Dead City Radio formed in the East Bay in the Fall of 2003. Their first four-song demo was recorded by Willy Samuels at Nu-Tone Studios, February 20-22nd of this year. Already the recording has secured the band a spot on the upcoming soundtrack for the film "San Franpsycho: Wet and Reckless" (a popular surfing series), has led to repeated air time on Berkeley's KALX, and has been used as the background track for a local music promotional piece on the Bay Area's KITS. Starting with their successful debut live appearance April 28th at San Francisco's Hotel Utah (which packed the joint), the band has played a steady stream of energetic gigs at venues including Kimo's (S.F.), The Stork (Oakland), and Rooster's Roadhouse (Alameda). Next up: moving on to the rest of the Bay Area and the region with a growing list of scheduled dates and offers for encore performances. Still just starting to create a buzz on the local circuit, DCR plan to erase American Idol and its cronies from the minds of the people and ultimately provide the charts with a different kind of litter.
Dead City Radio (in photo, from left to right) is Dave Radio (guitar), Jack (vocals), Darren (bass), Stephen A (drums), and Noah Fence (guitar).
